To close this section I would like to showcase a piece of art of various interpretations of Matarajin-sama drawn by a friend.

He and I both tend to do visualizations of him for the sake of ease and the leftmost depiction of him is how my friend sees him. Unlike most depictions, he sees him in mostly dark blue clothing, which I find interesting.

The middle left depiction is of course based on the most common image of him, and I must say I adore how friendly he looks. The middle right is the way I see him. He's in white like how most kamisama are depicted, but otherwise the elements are all in their places. One detail I feel is important is that whenever I see him with my mind's eye, I can never tell if he's wearing a mask or just make-up. I never see his eyes either, except when they have an ominous shine to them.

The rightmost one is the way Rev. Bernkastel sees him. I love that despite him being very human like, it's subtlely conveyed that he really isn't. And not necessarily in the divine way either. I think it's a nice acknowledgement of Matarajin-sama's oni-like, or otherwise youkai-like aspects.
